Alumni Association of Department of Botany, University of Allahabad
Association is registered as a society under Uttar Pradesh Societies Registration Act, 1860 (Registration No. ALL/08517/2021-2022) with an objective to bring
all the alumni of the Department under one vibrant forum to exchange their knowledge and experiences for advancement of the Department and its alumni in the
areas of academic, administrative and social welfare. The purpose of the Association is to work for the benefit of the students, meritorious as well as of
economically weak section of the society, to work for the betterment of the Department, to conduct different academic activities and to have better interactions
among all the alumni.
Objectives of the Association
- 1. To bring all the old students of Department of Botany, University of Allahabad under one vibrant forum to exchange experiences and knowledge and to develop a strong network among themselves for their bonding and advancement.
- 2. To establish a forum to preserve the memories, associations and traditions of the Department.
- 3. To maintain continuity by serving as a vital link between the past and the present students, staff and members of the Department.
- 4. To maintain a database containing information such as general personal details, contact details, educational details and present details of the members of society.
- 5. To encourage, foster and promote close relation between the Department and its alumni for the growth and advancement of the Department and its alumni in the areas of administrative, academic and social welfare.
- 6. To make optimum use of alumni expertise to conduct alumni-student knowledge exchange programmes like professional lectures, training programmes, workshops, conferences, seminar, symposia, meetings etc.
- 7. To organise and promote get-togethers, social meetings, sports and cultural activities, competitions, etc.
- 8. To publish books, journals, volumes, magazines, newsletters etc. for social and academic purposes.
- 9. To help and encourage outstanding students for their academic welfare.
- 10. To enlist the interests and services of alumni in strengthening and improving the infrastructural facilities, qualitative development and academic activities of the Department.
- 11. To setup an 'Alumni Fund' for offering various scholarships, awards, medals etc. and to carry out different administrative, academic and social activities as listed above and as per the future requirements.
- 12. To receive, raise and collect donations, funds, grants and other financial aids and assistance for the fulfilment of the aims and objectives of society and to utilize the funds in such manner as the Executive Committee may consider necessary.
- 13. To do all such acts and deeds as are incidental to and as the association deems appropriate in attainment of its aims and objectives.
